Mitch Frohman started with Joe Cuba 38 years ago, and then he played with most of well known names as Charlie Palmieri, Tito Puente, with whom he was playing for 25 years, Celia Cruz, Che Feliciano and many more. Frohman is an active part of the great Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Big Band Mambo Legends Orchestra as well. His signature sound can be heard somewhere in the world everyday as he is the sax soloist on the theme of TV’s mega- hit “Sex & The City”. After almost 40 years in the Latin Jazz community Mitch Frohmanis long overdue to present his own music.

Imagine a hot salsa band from the1960s reuniting after a 30-year hiatus to discover an even greater,more global, fan base. “Rip Van Winkle couldn’t have had it better,”recalls co-bandleader George Rodriguez of the New Swing Sextet’s (NSS) recaptured infectious popularity. “No one is more surprised than we are,” says the vibist and original NSS member, “to be ‘Back on the Streets’.”
A product of New York City and the excitement and turbulence of the sixties, the New Swing Sextet made its professional debut performing in the Singer Bowl at the last New York Worlds Fair in 1965. The band has been a popular and innovative exponent of Latin jazz, salsa and pop music for nearly five decades.
Made up of top professional musicians based in Spain although with several origens, not only from this country but others as Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, etc. This musical group is available in formats 4, 5, 6 and 9 musicians and often accompany singers well known on international tours. La Candela Salsa Orchestra
La Candela is an youth but experienced orchestra, that seeking a place among the preferences of Salsa dancers.
Our proposal aims to “hook” the dancer with the primal rhythms of salsa like theson montuno, guaguancó, mambo and cha cha cha. Therefore we tried to compose a group to recover the sound of the era when Salsa was forging.
The band consists of seven musicians based in Tenerife (Canary Islands) including youth and seniority mix. Some of them are still studying at the music conservatory and the veterans have been part of bands floor and shared the stage with international figures such as Tito Nieves, Tony Vega, Adalberto Santiago, Cheo Feliciano, Luisito Carrion, Manolito Simonet, Pedro Brull, etc.
